XplorRx® Lens Guide

  • Prescription

If you require prescription for crystal clear vision, XplorRx® glasses are available in both single vision distance and multifocal options. Multifocal lenses allow you to read watches, smart-tech and maps whilst cycling/running, if you require a reading prescription.

Available in a range of various lens options - see below

  • Plano (Non-Prescription)

XplorRx® are available in a basic range of non-prescription lenses to use as every-day sunglasses for those who do not require prescription lenses.

  • Plano-Bifocal

If you don't require prescription in the distance, but need help with you near vision, we offer non-prescription bifocals, with a reading section at the bottom, available in 3 different powers, a bit like over-the-counter magnifying glasses.

Available photochromatic, changing from clear to dark when exposed to the sun's UV light.

  • Clear

Get crystal-clear vision with XplorRx® clear lenses. Whether indoors, at the office, or driving at night, our lenses provide optimal clarity. Please note that clear lenses do not change colour with different UV exposures, like photochromatic lenses do.

  • Polarised

Polarised sunglass lenses provide great protection from reflections from flat surfaces, such as hot roads, water, snow and shiny car bonnets. They help to improve depth and contrast, reduce eyestrain and fatigue, and also improve perception of shapes and colours. However, Polarisation makes it difficult to view LCD screens. These lenses are also not suitable for driving at night or in dull conditions.

  • Standard Tint

For fully customisable lenses, choose your colour and tint percentage that you feel will suit you best. Without polarisation, for those who prefer without.

  • Photochromatic

Photochromatic lenses automatically darken when triggered by UV light. Even though they can take a minute or two to fully adjust, these lenses can take away the need to have to switch between two sets of glasses in changing light conditions. Please note that transitions can be quite dark on cloudy days that have high UV indexes.

  • Drivewear

Drivewear lenses change from a shade of green/yellow, to a copper shade, to a dark reddish-brown colour, depending on the amount of light. They are polarised and work behind car windscreens. Transitions Drivewear should not be worn at night.

  • Super Hydrophobic Multicoat

Experience the pinnacle of eyewear innovation with XplorRx®’s premium super hydrophobic lenses, enhanced with a captivating purple mirror-like multicoat. Watch it come alive as the photochromic lenses darken. Our cutting-edge hydrophobic coating repels water and dirt, ensuring effortless cleaning and maintenance. The Super Hydrophobic Coating creates an even shield across the lens, banishing dust and water alike – a 'Dust-Free' Lens like no other.

  • Standard Anti-Reflective Multicoat

Anti-reflective multicoat is the recommendation for the vast majority of prescription eyewear. Great for indoor use and night driving, anti-reflection helps reduce reflections and glare from indoor lighting and from car headlights at night. This greatly improves the clarity of vision with your prescription lenses. AR coatings may scratch a little quicker than standard hard coat lenses, so keep this in mind if you work in a dusty environment.

  • Standard Hard Coat

The standard budget option with improved scratch resistance. While reflections may occur, our lenses offer excellent durability.

  • Sunglass Mirror Coatings

Get the most out of your outdoor adventures with sunglasses featuring mirror coatings. Enjoy clear vision and greater comfort in bright environments.

Available in a range of stylish colours.

  • Back Surface Multicoat

An anti-reflective coating applied to the back (eye) side of the lens, reducing reflections from behind/beside the wearer.
